Vacation

Summer session is over, Grades will be posted in a few days, and I have the rest of the month off work. Feels good to get a break. No school for the kids in Aug, I'm letting them play video games, build legos and just be kids. Tomorrow me & the boys go on a "mini" vacation, I rented a cabin in the woods nearby for 2 nights, and we're going to do some nature walks and such in the much cooler temps up there. I rather enjoyed my art class, and I got good grades in nutrition, but I can honestly say, I still have no clue what to eat now any more than I did then. I've packed my camera and researchable batteries for the trip, I'm hoping for photos of, I dunno squirrels or something.

The end is near

Two weeks of class left for the summer, and I'm giving it a last push to get thru. This was harder than I expected, but I guess that's the point of college. Next semester is twice as long, and I'll be teaching 3 children as well as my own classes. I'm going to a gallery to view Dale Chuiliy's work later this week, since I can't take a good photo, here's his work from the website.

Destiny's first words

Last night was one of those wonderful nights that reminds me why I do this work. Destiney read her first 9 words. It was wonderful, and she was so excited about reading to her mommy. Kim was just as excited when she got here. Kim and I decided to enroll Destiny in the same school as my 5 year old, and I'll be teaching them both next year. Destiny's in K, but last year she did alot of the science, history art and music lessons along with Evan, so we had them place her in 1st grade for these classes.
